Bethanga Landcare Group

The Bethanga Landcare Group formed in 1993, and incorporates the catchments of Bethanga Creek and Spring Creek.

This group covers the western end of the peninsula between the Murray and Mitta Mitta Rivers along Lake Hume, from around Bethanga almost to old Tallangatta.

The top four issues that the community initially believed required to be addressed in the area were weeds, pasture management, tree regeneration and soil erosion, and have since determined the direction and focus of the Bethanga Landcare Group.

The group has developed a Local Area Plan in 2002, which provides detailed action plans for the priorities and future activity of the group.
