We are a new Landcare group located in Dinner Plain in the Victorian alps, 10km from Mt Hotham. We have formed as a sub committee of the Omeo Landcare Group.

The Dinner Plain Landcare group was formed in the summer of 2004/2005.  The group aims to help preserve and maintain our unique alpine environment whilst encouraging and establishing eco friendly uses in this area. We believe by helping maintain what happens at the top of the mountain may help those further down the mountain.

The group aims to bring environmental awareness to such issues as potential weeds, erosion, water and pest problems, along with helping to promote, upgrade and maintain public access areas such as walking and biking tracks in the local Alpine region.

Dinner Plain group aims to implement projects in the local areas that will benefit not only environement but the local community and visitors to the area.  These projects will be achieved via the participation of volunteer members, the local community, school groups and relevant authorities such as Alpine Shire, Parks Vic and DSE.  The group goal is to complete at least one project per summer.
