The Regional Landcare Facilitator Project is subsidising a range of short courses and workshops to assist you to do your bit for the environment!

INTRODUCTION TO BEE-KEEPING
Bright, Sunday 11th Nov 2012, 9.30am - 4.30pm

Discover some of the secrets of life inside the hive at this one day introduction to bees and bee-keeping. This workshop will cover all the basics of beginning in bees, seasonal management of your hives and embarking on a journey of discovery with one of humanity's oldest companions.
Tutor: David Briggs (North East Apiarists Association)
Cost: $35 Landcare members / $40 non-members

INTRODUCTION TO PERMACULTURE
Mitta Valley, Sat 17th Nov 2012
An introduction to permaculture principles that you can use to create a sustainable and productive environment on your property. Topics include reading the landscape and zoning, understanding ecological processes and organic food production using permaculture principles.
Tutor: Rebecca Chettleburgh (Riverina TAFE) 
Cost: $35 Landcare members / $40 non-members

LANDSCAPE PLANNING FOR SMALL RURAL PROPERTIES
Yackandandah Community Centre,
Sun 25th Nov & 2nd Dec, 9.30am - 12.30pm (2 x 3hr sessions)

Develop a vision and plan for your property! This inspiring workshop will provide you with the skills and confidence to create a more productive & comfortable property for your family. Learn about the fundamentals of landscape design and how to decide where to place a veggie garden, fruit trees, chook run, wood lot or other features. Discuss the value of creating shady garden areas and consider plant selection and placement in a fire-prone environment.
Tutor: Jenny Indian (landscape architect) 
Cost: $30 Landcare members / $35 non-members

Course locations and dates will be based on registered interest - so please let us know what interests you! We can arrange for courses to run in your local area.

For community groups, there is no charge for any half day course that you would like to run (minimum of 10 participants required).

Courses are open to all community members in North East Victoria.
