Tallangatta Valley Landcare Group

This group covers the main catchment of the Tallangatta Creek and it's tributaries, including Bucheen and Waterfall Creeks, which feed into the Mitta Mitta River near Old Tallangatta. The Tallangatta Valley Landcare Group has been operating over 10 years, and originally developed from the Tallangatta Tree Group. The group has been involved in major programs for water quality protection, erosion control, weed control and land management within their area. The group workes in partnership with the CMA for river health projects, and managed NHT funded erosion control, revegetation and Vic funded weed control programs. The group has assisted landholders to undertake significant blackberry control projects, particularly in the eastern and upper catchment.
