In this film we meet Betty, a Barking Owl, wildlife ecologist Dr
Natasha Schedvin and local residents of the Chiltern-Mt Pilot
National Park area near Beechworth and Chiltern. Join them and
discover more about the fascinating Barkers.
Betty shares with us some of the significant events of her life’s story – finding a mate,
raising a family – the dangers that are always lurking in the bush.
Betty and her partner Todd survive the disastrous wildfire of
2003 but Betty’s life is changed forever.
What lessons can we learn about managing the land for future generations of Barkers?
This short film is based on the research of PhD student Dr Natasha Schedvin who will be our special
guest on the night and happy to answer your questions.
Free copies of the film and information flier will be available.
Children welcome.
